Protein Structure Prediction Using Support Vector Machine

ABSTRACT

Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used for predict the protein structural. Bioinformatics method use to protein structure prediction mostly depends on the amino acid sequence. In this paper, work predicted of 1-D, 2-D, and 3-D protein structure prediction. Protein structure prediction is one of the most important problems in modern computation biology. Support Vector Machine haves shown strong generalization ability protein structure prediction. Binary classification techniques of Support Vector Machine are implemented and RBF kernel function is used in SVM. This Radial Basic Function (RBF) of SVM produces better accuracy in terms of classification and the learning results.

Classification of Vehicles Based on Audio Signals using Quadratic Discriminant Analysis and High Energy Feature Vectors

ABSTRACT 

The focus of this paper is on classification of different vehicles using sound emanated from the vehicles. In this paper, quadratic discriminant analysis classifies audio signals of passing vehicles to bus, car, motor, and truck categories based on features such as short time energy, average zero cross rate, and pitch frequency of periodic segments of signals. Simulation results show that just by considering high energy feature vectors, better classification accuracy can be achieved due to the correspondence of low energy regions with noises of the background. To separate these elements, short time energy and average zero cross rate are used simultaneously.In our method, we have used a few features which are easy to be calculated in time domain and enable practical implementation of efficient classifier. Although, the computation complexity is low, the classification accuracy is comparable with other classification methodsbased on long feature vectors reported in literature for this problem.

An Optimum Time Quantum Using Linguistic Synthesis for Round Robin Cpu Scheduling Algorithm

ABSTRACT

In Round Robin CPU scheduling algorithm the main concern is with the size of time quantum and the increased waiting and turnaround time. Decision for these is usually based on parameters which are assumed to be precise. However, in many cases the values of these parameters are vague and imprecise. The performance of fuzzy logic depends upon the ability to deal with Linguistic variables. With this intent, this paper attempts to generate an Optimal Time Quantum dynamically based on the parameters which are treated as Linguistic variables. This paper also includes Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System using Trapezoidal membership function, results in LRRTQ Fuzzy Inference System. In this paper, we present an algorithm to improve the performance of round robin scheduling algorithm. Numerical analysis based on LRRTQ results on proposed algorithm show the improvement in the performance of the system by reducing unnecessary context switches and also by providing reasonable turnaround time.
